There is nothing that compares with portrait painting for its ability to render a narrative of truth regardless of the intention of the painter or sitter. It is always a challenge open to much criticism or praise by those who have a vested interest. What does not kill you will make you strong. I am always up to the challenge because it's an intriguing genre.
